IEEE Computer Society Adds PMBOK v4 CAPM and PMP E-Learning Courses

I recommend IEEE Computer Society’s Element K E-Learning service (www.computer.org) which offers 3000 online courses powered by Element K. Your membership to the IEEE Computer Society is around 100$ and not only gives you access to many resources as an IT Professional, but also gives you access to a multitude of free E-Learning courses that give you an IEEE Computer Society certification and some courses even give you CEU’s, both of which are recognized worldwide. Recently added are PMP and CAPM online certification courses for PMBOK v4 which the current PMI certifications are based on.

Many paper publications and over 600 books (via Safari Books Online) are also available to members which can be downloaded for your reading leisure. The CAPM certification for PMBOK V4 is currently available for free (along with other courses) with a paid membership with IEEE Computer Society.

The CAPM certification course provides you with an IEEE CAPM Certification which is widely recognized as well as preparing you for your CAPM PMI certification exam. You also obtain. 2.3 CEU credits. This self-paced e-learning course provides the 23 contact education hours and all the content that would be equivalent to an instructor-led classroom experience as required by PMI for the PMI CAPM certification exam. There is also a downloadable CAPM test preparation tool available from a link on the last page of the course.

The PMP certification course provides you with an IEEE PMP Certification which is also widely recognized as well as preparing you for you PMP PMI certification exam. You also obtain 3.5 CEU credits. This self-paced e-learning course provides the 35 contact education hours and all the content that would be equivalent to an instructor-led classroom experience as required by PMI for the PMI PMP certification exam.

CEU is an acronym for Continuing Education Unit. The CEU credit is a nationally recognized unit of measurement for participation in non-credit continuing education programs.

Other Project Management and Management courses are also available divided into concepts and tools. The Concepts section includes courses and online technical references for Agile, CAPM certification PMBOK v3 and v4, Comptia IT Project +, Project Management for Technical Teams, Portfolio Management, Prince 2, PMP certification v3 and v4, among others. The Tools section provides courses on Microsoft project from 98 to 2007 and other exam preparation and online technical references.
